- Motion to approve the revised job description for the temporary position of Workforce Professional Case Manager Recruitment Specialist’s education and qualifications from: “Position requires bachelor’s degree in a related field AND four (4) years of related experience.” And changing it to: “Position requires bachelor’s degree in a related field OR four (4) years of related experience.” Due to the immediate need, the position being temporary, and the staff shortage in the youth department due to budget cuts for PY23/FY24. The qualifications amendment is crucial to allow for the successful completion of the hiring process and the subsequent fulfillment of this position. Funding for this position will be paid out of WIOA funds. Authorize the Treasurer to amend the budget as necessary. ( Personnel, Health & Elections 02/05)
- Motion to approve a four percent (4%) pay increase for all Rapides Parish Fire District No. 6 – Deville VFD employees effective February 1, 2024, as recommended by the Deville Volunteer Fire Department Board of Directors and the Fire Chief. ( Personnel, Health & Elections 02/05)
- Motion to approve an hourly rate increase of 0.50¢ for one part time firefighter position and an hourly rate increase of $0.25¢ for another part time firefighter position, effective January 28, 2024, as recommended by the Deville Volunteer Fire Department Board of Directors and the Fire Chief. - Motion to adopt a resolution ordering and calling a special election to be held in Road District No. 1A of the Parish of Rapides, State of Louisiana, to authorize the renewal of a special tax therein, making application to the State Bond Commission, and providing for other matters in connection therewith. - Motion to accept contractor, The Migues Deloach Company, LLC, EchoPoland Volunteer Fire Department, Rapides Parish Fire District No. 9, New Fire Station, as “Substantially Complete”, and authorize the Parish President to sign all necessary documents, as recommended by Pan American Engineers, LLC. ( Mr. Overton)
- Motion to authorize the Public Works Director to advertise and hire up to twelve (12) seasonal workers for mowing crews and general labor. Work will begin on March 31, 2024 and end no later than November 2, 2024, rate of pay is $14.00 per hour for Laborers and $14.50 per hour for Labor Foreman, to be paid from the Public Works salary line item. - Motion to authorize to extend Bid # 3078 (Janitorial Services for Courthouse) with Rapides Janitor Service Inc., for an one-year term beginning February 1, 2024 thru January 31, 2025, as recommended by the Purchasing Agent and Courthouse Superintendent and authorize the Parish President to sign all necessary documents. (Mr. Bishop)
- Motion to exercise the option to renew the five (5) year voting precinct lease agreement for Precinct N03, Tudor Community Center, for an additional one
- (1) year. A copy of this resolution to be sent to Secretary of State, Registrar of V oters and Clerk of Court. (Mr. Bishop)
- Motion to exercise the option to renew the five (5) year lease agreement with Tillman Infrastructure, LLC, for the cell phone tower located at 5000 Coliseum Boulevard for the same like terms and conditions and authorize the President to sign all necessary documents. This is the first of seventeen
- (17) additional five (5) year term renewals. (Mr. Bishop)
