Industrial Tax Exemption application #20230120-ITE - $1,833,812,575.000 has been placed on the agenda for a public meeting of October 9, 2023, notice of which is attached hereto, thus hereby requesting an additional 30 days to take action on the Application. Motion to authorize the Rapides Parish Police Jury to enter into an agreement with MJL Construction, LLC for the relocation of a 4” water line (owned by the Rapides Parish Ward 6 Water Association), as required for DOTD Off System Bridge Replacement Project DOTD SP H.014261, Doshie Road Bridge over Cherry Winche Creek Tributary, at a cost of $14,615.00 and authorize the Parish President to sign the necessary documents as recommended by Parish Engineer, Pan American Engineers, LLC.   4. Motion to acknowledge the re-election of Mr. Ernest Klock, representing employee elect, to the Rapides Parish Fire District No. 3 Civil Service Board. Term will be for three (3) years. Term will expire October 10, 2026. (Mr. Moreau)

Motion to authorize the purchase of equipment for the Town of Lecompte, total cost of $55,374.44, State Contract No. 4400025219, to be paid from the town’s portion of Road District 3A Maintenance Tax Funds, as requested by signed Resolution No. 2023-40 passed by the Town of Lecompte in a meeting held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.   2. Motion to authorize the purchase of two (2) vehicles for Rapides Parish Fire District No. 2, State Contract No. 4400023793, as requested by the Fire Chief to be paid from Fire District No. 2 funds. (Mr. McGlothlin)
  3. Motion to authorize the Rapides Parish Police Jury to enter into an agreement with Geotechnical Engineering Associates, LLC., for geotechnical investigation and engineering consultation for the slope failure along Lone Pine Road at Bayou Cocodrie at an estimated cost of $21,000. (Mr. Johnson)

Motion to authorize the Rapides Parish Police Jury to execute Work Order No. 12 – Courthouse Administration Annex-Demolition and Clearance of Dilapidated Structure (1209 Eighth Street), under the American Rescue Plan Act and authorize the President to sign all necessary document, as recommended by Pan American Engineers, LLC.   2. Motion to grant approval of Cypress Pond Subdivision (Formerly Green Acres), located at Frost & Leigh Drive, Pineville, as recommended by the Rapides Area Planning Commission and authorize signing of the plat upon Legal Counsel review and approval. (Mr. Bishop)
  3. Motion to adopt a resolution to allow Capital Area Finance Authority (CAFA) to offer a bond program in addition to our current grant programs to citizens looking to purchase homes in Rapides Parish. CAFA is a Local Housing Finance Agency, not a state agency and has a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with Rapides Finance Authority. (Mr. Bishop)
