• K. EMERGENCY ORDINANCE

20. Emergency ordinance to address and declare a public emergency for replacement of fire pump, jockey pump and controller at the Randolph Riverfront Center for the fire suppression system and to authorize the mayor to enter into any necessary contract or contracts with Andersen Fire Protection of Alexandria, Inc. for cost of labor and material and such other contracts reasonable and necessary for the replacement and maintenance of the fire pump, jockey pump, controller and other necessary components for the fire suppression system required at the Randolph Riverfront Center and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

On a motion of Mr. Fowler and seconded by Ms. Felter the Council unanimously entered executive session at 5:05 p.m. on the following:

TO CONSIDER A REPORT AND RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY ATTORNEY TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY ATTORNEY TO SETTLE AND COMPROMISE THE MATTER “ANDRE B MILTON V. CITY OF ALEXANDRIA, ET AL.” (9TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT CIVIL SUIT NO. 269,713 A) AND OTHER MATTERS WITH RESPECT THERETO. On a motion of Mr. Fowler and seconded by Mr. Johnson the Council unanimously exited the executive session at 5:12 p.m.

CONSENT CALENDAR

The Council next read all items found under the heading Consent Calendar and assigned them to committees.

Mr. Fowler moved for the introduction of all items appearing under the heading Consent Calendar. Mr. Johnson seconded the motion. It was unanimously carried by the Council. The above bid was referred to the Mayor and appropriate committee for tabulation and recommendation.
