  3. Motion to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Village of Forest Hill, and for the Rapides Parish Public Works Department to assist and repair potholes on Earl Linzay Road and Stokes Lane, to be paid out of Road District 1A, District H. (Public Works 05/06)
  4. Motion to adopt an ordinance to establish or set a 50mph speed limit on Cheneyville-Echo Road, District H and authorize the Public Works Department to erect speed limit signs. (Public Works 05/06)
  5. Motion to authorize Rapides Parish Fire District No. 14 to submit application for the 2024 Forestry Grant not to exceed $20,000.00, as requested by the Fire Chief and authorize the President to sign all necessary documents. (Workforce Development & Grants 05/06)

Motion for the Workforce Operations Department to hire (1) temporary parttime teacher, up to 32 hours per week, beginning May 14, 2024, until August 30, 2024, to facilitate the Summer Youth Employment Program, $25 hourly, to be paid out of WIOA funds.   7. Motion to authorize the Rapides Parish Jury President to sign the Memorandum of Agreement with the Rapides Parish School Board for the purpose of engaging out of school youth. Motion to authorize the cleaning and debris removal project of subsurface drainage in the Town of Lecompte, to be paid from the town’s portion of Road District 3A, cost not to exceed $75,000.00, as requested by signed Resolution No. 2024-008 passed by the Town of Lecompte in a meeting held on Monday, May 6, 2024.   4. Motion to rescind motion passed March 11, 2024 to declare a Public Emergency on Lone Pine Road, District H, and authorize installation of H - piles and the reconstruction of the roadway due to roadway “slide” failure, as recommended by Pan American Engineers and authorize the President to sign any necessary documents. Project to be funded by Road District 3A, District H. (Mr. Giles)
  5. Motion to authorize to execute an Engineering Agreement with Pan American Engineers, LLC. to develop bidding documents for road slope failure repairs to Lone Pine Road and authorize Pan American Engineers, LLC. to advertise and receive bids for the same.   1. Motion to authorize the payment for two (2) Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Deputies for security detail at Cotile Lake Recreation for Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 25 th, Sunday, May 26 th and Mondy, May 27 th, for the hours of 10:00 am – 8:00 pm. (Mr. Bordelon)
  2. Motion to ratify authorization for the submission of two (2) forestr y grants: one (1) Smokey Bear Fire Danger Sign Project and one (1) reimbursable Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant; for Fire District No. 5 – Oakhill VFD and authorize the Fire Chief and Parish President to sign all necessary documents. (Mr. Giles)
  3. Motion to accept the donation of used bunker gear from Westlake Chemical to Rapides Parish Fire Dist rict #5 - Oakhill VFD , as recommen ded by the Fire Chief. The gear is no longer usable by Westlake Chemical but can be used by the Fire Department. (Mr. Giles)
  4. Motion to amend the FY2024 Police Jury travel budget from $25,000.00 to $45,000.00 for Police Juror travel expenses, for continuing education, said total to be divided equally between the nine (9) Police Jurors. (Mr. Moreau)
  5. Motion to authorize the hosting of a Cotile Lake Vendor Festival on September 7, 2024 and Halloween Bash in October, hosted by the Cotile Event Association and authorize the President to sign any necessary documents, pending Legal Counsel approval. (Mr. Bordelon)
  6. Motion to grant 2% annual longevity pay increase mandated by the State for eligible Rapides Parish Fire Protection District No. 3 employees effective July 28, 2024 as recommended by Alpine Volunteer Fire Department Board of Directors, to be paid out of Fire Protection District No. 3 funds. Motion to reject bids for Blue Lake Roadway Improvements due to all bids exceeding the previously approved budget and a request for additional work and approve the revised scope of work, not to exceed $160,000.00, to be paid from Road District 1A Maintenance, as recommended by Pan American Engineers.
