City Council Minutes – September 22, 2020

PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 22, 2020. The Council of the City of Alexandria, Louisiana, met in a special scheduled meeting session at its regular meeting place, on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 1:00P.M. Those present were the Honorable Jules Green, Malcolm Larvadain, Jim Villard, Chuck Fowler, Gerber Porter, Joe Fuller. Harry Silver was absent. Also present were Council Staff. The Council of the City of Alexandria, State of Louisiana, was duly convened as the governing authority of said City by the Honorable Jules Green, who stated that the Council was ready for the transaction of business. RESOLUTION

Mr. Green requested that the following resolution be amended to include the State Attorney General and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Mr. Larvadain moved to make the amendment and was seconded by Mr. Porter.

A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE OFFICE OF STATE INSPECTOR GENERAL INVESTIGATE ALLEGATIONS OF FRAUD, WASTE, MISMANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC FUNDS AND CORRUPTION AS IT RELATES TO THE OPERATIONS OF THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA POLICE DEPARTMENT.

The President called for any discussion, a vote was called for and resulted as follows:

YEAS: Fuller, Green, Larvadain, Porter.

NAYS: Villard, Fowler.

ABSENT: Silver.

The resolution was amended.

Mr. Fuller moved for the adoption of the following resolution as amended, which was seconded by Mr. Larvadain.

RESOLUTION NO. 0088-2020

RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE OFFICES OF STATE

INSPECTOR GENERAL, ATTORNEY GENERAL AND FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION INVESTIGATE ALLEGATIONS OF FRAUD, WASTE, MISMANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC FUNDS AND CORRUPTION AS IT RELATES TO THE OPERATIONS OF THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA POLICE DEPARTMENT.

The President called for any discussion, a vote was called for and resulted as follows:

YEAS: Fuller, Green, Larvadain, Porter.

NAYS: Villard, Fowler.

ABSENT: Silver.

This resolution was thereupon declared adopted on this the 22nd day of September 2020.
