City Council Public Hearing Minutes – September 15, 2020

PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A PUBLIC HEARING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 15 , 2020. The Council of the City of Alexandria, Louisiana, met in a Public Hearing scheduled at its regular meeting place, on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 5:42 P.M. Those present were the Honorable Jules Green, Malcolm Larvadain, Jim Villard, Chuck Fowler, Gerber Porter, Joe Fuller. Harry Silver attended electronically. Also present were Mayor Hall, Cit y Attorney David Williams and Council Staff. The Council of the City of Alexandria, State of Louisiana, was duly convened as the governing authority of said City by the Honorable Jules Green, who stated that the Council was ready for the transaction of business. The Invocation was pronounced by Mr. Nolley and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Fowler. On a motion of Mr. Villard and seconded by Mr. Fowler the public hearing was opened. PUBLIC HEARING

TO CONSIDER LEVYING ADDITIONAL OR INCREASED MILLAGE RATES WITHOUT FURTHER VOTER APPROVAL OR ADOPTING THE ADJUSTED MILLAGE RATES AFTER REASSESSMENT AND ROLLING FORWARD TO RATES NOT TO EXCEED THE PRIOR YEAR’S MAXIMUM. THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF TAX REVENUES TO BE COLLECTED IN THE NEXT YEAR FROM THE INCREASED MILLAGE IS $10,019,023.00 AND THE AMOUNT OF INCREASE IN TAXES ATTRIBUTABLE TO THE MILLAGE INCREASE IS $85,737.00.

On a motion of Mr. Fuller and seconded by Mr. Villard the public hearing was closed.
