The England Economic and Industrial Development District Board of Commissioners Special Session September 3, 2005

The England Economic and Industrial Development District met in Special Session at its regular meeting place, the England Authority Board Room, 1611 Arnold Drive, England Industrial Airpark and Community, Alexandria, Louisiana, on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. (Central Standard Time). England Authority Commissioners were contacted by telephone regarding the Notice of meeting. Notice was faxed to media, public and posted on front door of 1611 Arnold Drive. There were present: Mr. Wayne Miller, Chairman; Ms. Bridgett Brown, Vice Chairman; Mr. Kit Provine, Secretary/Treasurer; Mr. Martin Johnson, Mr. Richard Bushnell, Mr. William Barron, Mr. Curman Gaines, Mr. Michael Tudor and Mr. Charles Waites. Absent: Mr. Wayne Denley Also present were: Mr. Jon Grafton, Executive Director, members of the England Authority staff, legal counsel, and members of the public, press and media. The England Economic and Industrial Development District was duly convened as the governing authority of said District by Mr. Wayne Miller, Chairman, who then stated that the England Economic and Industrial Development District was ready for the transaction of business. MOTION DECLARING PUBLIC EMERGENCY REGARDING HURRICANE KATRINA AND AUTHORIZING CERTAIN ACTIONS TAKEN BY THE ENGLAND ECONOMIC INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT. Motion by Mr. Johnson, second by Ms. Brown, declaring public emergency regarding Hurricane Katrina and authorizing certain actions taken by the England Economic Industrial Development District. Chairman Miller called for any discussion regarding Hurricane Katrina disaster, emergency housing shortage and the dire needs of the evacuees. On vote, motion carried. 101-2005 Public Comments – None There being no further business to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned.
